My computer still has pictures I don't want and I can't get them off my hard drive.?

My son thought he could fix our computer and he accidently re-formated my computer, I lost everything. I had a system recovery and it brought back everything. I got back 60,000 pictures on my computer, I did not have 60,000 pictures on my computer. What I found out was another nightmare, my wife and I opened the file and it had everything that was ever looked at on the web. I had porn on my computer, I don't get into porn, and I found out one of my friends son came over and he looked at porn on my computer. Well my story is not ended but my problem continues, I can not get the stuff off my hard drive. I tried CCleaner, and it did not work. How do I fix this? I know I can clear the history and the cookies, but the stuff is still left on the hard drive. If you don't have good virus protection, can images slip on your computer without you viewing them and get stuck on your hard drive. Can someone help me?

Are they actual images? What happens when you attempt to delete them? It shouldn't take much to delete a file, just as long as it isn't in use by the system. Or in memory. Try restarting the computer and then deleting.

Or log into your computer in Safe Mode. Repeatedly press F8 during your BIOS loading screen. Then select Safe Mode. Attempt to delete from there.

Use a graphics editor like PhotoShop and delete the photos ONE BY ONE... it's about the only way.
