Looking for av, firewall, and spy/spam protection for Vista does anyone provide all in one protectio

I found AVAST which says it is AV but does not say it protects the others areas. Firewalls only do the one thing, as well as malware, are there any really good all-in-one packages out there and if not who has the better programs for each area and will they work together with Vista. It is probably clear my computer knowledge is very limited...please help!

You can use Microsoft's Windows Live OneCare for the time being. It's an all in one security suite + system maintenance tool. You get the fully-functional trial for 90 days, after which you will have to pay a one time fee to continue to use it. The fee is only about 50-60$.

If you want to look for free options after the trial, I will suggest using Avast! Home Edition ( as you have mentioned) and Windows Firewall. Vista also comes with Windows Defender, an anti-spyware utility, so you needn't worry about that. The Windows Firewall in Vista also monitors outbound traffic, again a plus point for you! I haven't used Vista yet, but you can activate both Defender and Firewall from Vista's Security Center.

Norton, McAfee, Trend Micro, Kaspersky %26NOD32 Security suite (beta) are the only major one's that I know of that will work with Vista so far.
If you looking for all in one protection. You should considered an internet security suite. They are very effective. A suite also cuts down on the amount of system conflicts, that you can have will using multiple software. A good security suite should include a firewall, anti-spyware, antivirus and privacy software. Hope this helps.
