Apple care protection plan ?

if you're getting the Apple care protection plan for a macbook, or any other Apple product, do you have to get it before the 1 year warranty runs out ?

also, is there a way to find out the exact date that your macbook was bought using your computer?

a) You 100% have to buy before the 1 year is up.

b) If you bought your Mac at the Apple store (online or in an Apple store), they will have your record/receipt. You should know your Apple login then. If you don't have that, I suspect they can look it up at an Apple store with your phone number or credit card. Otherwise, you may need to prove your date of purchase.

c) lastly, you can ask for a discount on the Apple Care plan. At various times when I have bought a Mac, the store has offered my $100 off the Apple Care. Doesn't hurt to ask.

I believe you would have to get the protection plan before the computers warranty runs out although the best place to look would be Apple. As for when it was purchased I believe you would have to call Apple. I don't think there is a way on their website for you to find out purchase dates unless maybe you bought it directly from the Apple store online there might be that info in your account.
