IT RAN ABOUT 6600 DETECTIONS AND KEPT ON DELETING UNTIL MY COMPUTER FROZE. IS THE YAHOO ANTI-VIRUS SCANNER ABLE TO REMOVE THIS PARTICULAR WORM OR DO I GO ABOUT OTHER MEANS OF REMOVAL, IF SO HOW DO I GO ABOUT IT?

6600 detections??? This reminds me of a computer I worked on that was hosting infected cracks for a crack site. So...logically my next question would be...Do you have a firewall??? If you don't, I would say that your computer is now somebody else's server.

This is malware, that is why you need virus protection from the second you install the OS, the first time you download some that might have malware in it, it could repeat this problem.
It seems to be a P2P worm. It affects only the files that are on a P2P network. Your best defense appears to be to remove the P2P client from your computer(at least for now) then delete all the exe files you have downloaded from the p2p sites.Delete all the files in the p2p shared folder on your hard disk
