I have sbc yahoo on line protection, is that enough security?

i was having problems so i restored my computer to factory setting i want to add avg, adware ,spybot, %26 spyblaster, is that too much security? i want to keep existing firewall do i need to uninstall at%26t security first . i need help with this , any help will be appreciated.

you may have your firewall turned off, but you need an antivirus as well as antispyware. once you have both these security programs, your computer will be protected.

The first thing you need to do is make sure you have your XP firewall turned on. SBC Online Protection does NOT include a firewall. The suite includes an AV, antispyware, pop up blocker, parental control,and email protection. So if your XP firewall is off (it's on by default in XP Service Pack 2), then you're running without a firewall. Not good. You can check it by navigating to the Start menu%26gt;Control Panel%26gt;Windows Firewall, and making sure it's on.



Now about SBC. Their antispyware is good, but their antivirus is only so-so. I would go with AVG. There should be an option to disable the antivirus in SBCOP. You should do this as it is not a good idea to run two antiviruses as they can conflict with each other.
