my computer modem, keeps shuting down every 15 mins. when i'm online, %26 when my sub-accounts are online. i have dial-up. also, things pop-up on my screen, %26 start loading by themselves.

I recommend AVG as an anti virus, although eTrust's 12 month free trial is excellent (I'm using it and am extremely impressed).

If you need other programs, go for Zone Alarm firewall, AVG anti spyware (formerly Ewido) and SpywareBlaster.

There are plenty of free programs for the pop-ups edwido is one I have used succesfully. However I have found that when things are really screwed up the simpler thing to do is back up your important files and do a complete re-install and start fresh. I have used Panda and Norton for Virus protection. Panda came highly recommended but I found it difficult and last re-install I just forked over the money (about 40 for a year downloaded) and bought Norton again it's working really well.
