The process of restoring is just as simple as going back to the computer settings of that day.. You wont lose any data which will be on the hard disk, but the softwares installed after that day might go or become obsolete..

yes it will affected ur computer..all software u was install after 2006 will loss..but ur work or data still have it..then if u want to restore make point first today.. then restore ur computer ..if u has any problem ,just restore ur computer today..it easy..do not afraid to try something..
System Restore resets your PC to the way it was on that date. everything newer will be lost!!!

If your PC is so flaky that you think you need to go back that far, do yourself a favour and do a Windows Clean Install.

For more info, go to:
hard to say without knowing what kind of problem you are having. once I did a restore point anti virus had to be re installed turns out anti virus wasn't deleted only the registry by reinstalling I had the anti virus on the drive twice. They fought each other making the computer hang up glitch had to do a system recovery. I also couldn't delete the program because it couldn't be found. also if your anit virus program has a firewall turn of the windows firewall running two firewalls at the same time really slows things down.
Nah...you will not lose anything......anything on your hard drive now is also taken back to 2006....
No if you restored your computer back to 2006 everything will be exactly the same as it is now.....
