Firstly, what have you been downloading? My guess is free software, music from a share site like Limewire or Kazaa or most likely Porn.

If you don't have an antivirus program, get AVG. AVG is free and works very well.
some companies made a backup of the default settings of the computer, i know compaq and hp does
