I did a google search and clicked the link I wanted. It brought up a google page saying that the the page may be harmful to my computer. It said I could continue at my own risk. I didn't of course but just getting to that page couldn't hurt my computer could it?

Yes, it could. I have McAfee SiteAdvisor and I clicked a link to a web site that was blocked by McAfee SiteAdvisor - a special page from McAfee SiteAdvisor came up explaining why it had blocked this site and what I read in the report for this site shocked me - this particular site would have crashed my computer and, apparently, that is exactly what this malicious web site was designed to do.
You should get McAfee SiteAdvisor - I have the free version and wouldn't surf without it. Also, when you use a search engine such as Google, the majority of the web sites have been analyzed and rated by SiteAdvisor so you will be well informed before you even click on a site. If the site has received a "red" (danger) rating for instance, you can view the site details in the SiteAdvisor report.
Here is the link to download McAfee SiteAdvisor:

If you use Microsoft Windows %26 Microsoft Internet Explorer, then yes! Simply viewing a web page can be enough to infect a Microsoft system.
More secure systems, such as Linux, haven't been hit in this way yet.
I wouldn't think so. Do a virus scan just in case. It is probaly just a warning so I would not worry about it to much.
No. google is telling you that the website you were heading to might be harmful. The goog rocks
GOOGLE ROCKS!!!
