Game install wants me to turn off Virus protection. Should i?

Bought "Need for speed-Most Wanted" Install wants me to turn off my virus protection. Why? what are the consequences of giving them total access to my computer? should i close virus when playing the game like they recommend?

I did install with virus off but plan to play with virus on!! I don't really trust turning protections off. Its feels like offering a window for hackers.

Really impressed by this game. Compared to earlier releases i've played its just so much better. They bring the action to you without confusing the story. It as a nice timeline and the controls are great considering i'm using a PC keyboard.

The reason they tell you to play with anti-virus off is so that the anti-virus doesn't interfere with gameplay and possibly blocking the game from executing. Try playing the game with your anti-virus turned on. If you don't run into any problems then you should be fine. Although if you do run into problems try a different anti-virus. It is a wise idea to NEVER turn off your anti-virus. Your just askin for trouble if you do. Although if you play the game offline and your not connected to the interent while playing then you can turn your anti-virus off, but don't forget to turn it back on the minute you log off the game.
