Why is virus protection so limited?

i have bitdefender 9 and the guy who programmed my computer gave me a key generator and whenever i put in a new registration key it tells me that it will expire

(originally it was going to expire on 10/25/2006 and when i put in the registration key it said

10/20/2007 but after the automatic uptade kicked in the expirey date went down to 10/28/2006 so that's what i am stuck with) so i was fighting with it til i got to this point any heplful suggestions and why is virus protection so limited and when you reregister it is really expensive

in fact why does it cost so much to keep your computer running good

I recommend AVG as an anti virus, although eTrust's 12 month free trial is excellent (I'm using it and am extremely impressed).

If you need other programs, go for Zone Alarm firewall, AVG anti spyware (formerly Ewido) and SpywareBlaster.
